Ride London 100 - Cycle Challenge for OCD-UK

Ride 100 for OCD-UK

This Summer we watched and cheered Team GB to cycling Gold around the streets of London, and in the Velodrome and of course Bradley storming to Tour de France success. Now you can follow in the pedal strokes of our sporting heroes, and ride London 100!

Next Summer you can take on a cycling challenge like no other through the closed roads of London and the Surrey hills.  Just hours before the world’s top cyclists race the RideLondon Classic, 20,000 cyclists will have the chance to cycle a modified version of the London 2012 Olympic Road Race.  This new event offers a unique opportunity to become part of cycling history.  Celebrating the legacy for cycling created by London 2012. RideLondon100 will start in the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, then follow the closed roads through the capital and onto Surrey’s stunning country roads and hills.  With leg-testing climbs and a route recently made famous by the world’s best cyclists, this promises to be truly spectacular event for all involved.

OCD-UK Charity Music Gig - Falmouth

OCD Music Gig

Fancy an evening of live music in aid of OCD-UK? Next Friday (2nd November), one of our followers, Martine, is hosting a live music gig in aid of OCD-UK. The gig is being hosted in Falmouth from 7pm, and all proceeds will come to OCD-UK.

Huge thanks go to Martine Heartland for planning this gig for OCD-UK. Martine spoke about the impact OCD causes for her son to her local newspaper recently.

The gig features several local singers and bands, including friend of OCD-UK, the fabulous Josie Ghost, whose OCD song is just brilliant.

2012 National OCD Conference - Live Online Streaming

Our project is funded by Awards for All

Since OCD-UK was founded back in 2004, it was our aim to ensure that OCD-UK became a charity for the whole of the UK, a charity serving our nation. It was this belief that promoted us to ensure we hosted our annual conferences around the whole of the UK, in fact, our first ever event was held in Scotland and since then we have hosted conferences on the South Coast, the East of England, the Midlands, the North West and this year we are hosting our annual conference in Wales, Cardiff on Saturday 10th November.

It gives us great pleasure today to be able to announce that this year, through the kind and generous support of Awards for All, part of the National Lottery Fund, the 2012 National OCD Conference will make use of the latest technology available to offer a live webstream broadcast of our 2012 annual conference. This year, the broadcast streaming will be freely available to all, and not only will residents in the UK be able to view the conference, but also visitors from overseas will also be able to benefit from the web streaming too, subject to technical requirements.

Spring 2013 Parents OCD Conference

one-day conference specifically for parents of children (school age) with OCD

OCD-UK are delighted to announce that during Spring 2013 we will be hosting a one-day conference specifically for parents of children (school age) with OCD.

The conference aims to explore and provide practical advice and solutions to the problems Mum’s and Dad’s face dealing with their child’s OCD,  from dealing with the OCD at home, dealing with their child’s school and problems many parents tell us they have in accessing formal diagnosis and treatment through their local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).   Although this conference is aimed primarily at parents of children with OCD, we believe the event will also benefit those that work with children with OCD within a CAMHS and teaching setting.

2012 National OCD Conference - Cardiff

Our annual conference takes place in Cardiff on 10th November

Continuing our commitment to provide OCD conferences around the whole of the UK, we are proud to announce that for 2012 we will be visiting Wales and to host the first ever OCD conference in Wales, Cardiff to be precise, on Saturday 10th November 2012. Our conference is primarily aimed at those with OCD, along with their family and friends, but we also welcome health professionals or anybody else that may also be interested in learning more about OCD.

Our conferences are a great way to listen to, learn from and even ask questions of some of the leading OCD experts here in the UK, but also to meet others with OCD and share coping experiences, and for some, to make new friends too.
