Gift Aid

Other Ways to Donate

Make a donation to OCD-UK today

Did you know you can make your donation gift worth 25% more to OCD-UK, at no additional cost to yourself, by simply declaring Gift Aid?

Gift Aid allows OCD-UK to reclaim the basic rate of tax, from the Inland Revenue, on all your donations. The basic rate of tax is 20 per cent, so this means that if you give £10 using Gift Aid, it’s worth £12.50 to OCD-UK.

All that is required is a one-off declaration that can be made by post, orally or via the email form below. Should your circumstances change, or should you no longer wish to subscribe to the scheme, then you can cancel your declaration at any time, either by phone or in writing.

Please email us with the following information to make your Gift Aid declaration:

- Your full name and postal address, including postcode.

- That you "Would like to delcare Gift Aid for OCD-UK (for a single donation, the past four years or for the future) and include the text: "I confirm I have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for the current tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for the current tax year. I understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. I understand the charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I have given."

Please send your email to:

If you are still unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief, then please do not hesitate to contact us, or you can contact the Inland Revenue directly, either by phone on their Gift Aid help line 0151 472 6038, or online at their website.

Gift Aid Example

The government's Gift Aid scheme means that for every pound you give to OCD-UK, we will receive an extra 25p from the taxman – at no extra cost to you. For example:

  • You donate £10
  • The taxman will add £2.50 Gift Aid
  • OCD-UK will receive a total of £12.50

For example, if you donate £100 in the current tax year, OCD-UK could claim back £25.00 from the Inland Revenue. To qualify for Gift Aid you must have paid £25.00 tax over the course of the year.

Who is eligible?

  • You must be a UK taxpayer. If you are retired you may still pay tax on your pension and savings, so most people qualify.
  • You should be paying income tax or capital gains tax equal to the amount OCD-UK (and other charities you donate Gift Aid to) can reclaim on your donations in any particular year.
