Claire running the 2011 London Marathon.

The Great North Run is the world's biggest and most iconic half marathon, with over 56,000 runners pounding the streets of the North East, it’s a definite must for runners of all types, taking place in September.

Shown live on BBC television, the dedication, passion and fun of all the runners results in an atmosphere second to none. Join elite athletes, wheelchair racers, fun runners and celebrities as you make your way over the spectator and iconic lined 13.1 mile course from Newcastle, across the iconic Tyne Bridge and onto the picturesque coastal finish in South Shields.

This event is yet to be challenged for its buzzing atmosphere and cheering crowds, with live music from ‘bands on the run’ to keep you motivated every step of the way.

Up for this fun challenge? You might even get to see yourself on the telly, with the race featured live on BBC television!

By pulling on the orange OCD-UK running vest and becoming a part of the OCD-UK running team you will be helping us to provide immediate practical and emotional support that will help change the lives of people living with OCD. 

We do have guaranteed places but if you secure your own place, and wish to fundraise for us (no minimum amount) then we welcome you to Team OCD-UK with an OCD-UK running shirt. We will even refund your race entry fee so you can run for FREE once you fundraise over a pre-agreed amount!  We will also send you a welcome pack and a bright OCD-UK running vest or T-shirt to help you stand out from the crowd, and offer you other benefits too..

We set a minimum sponsorship target as a guide, but we ask that you aim to raise as much as you can for OCD-UK.

By running for us, and as a member of team OCD-UK you will receive:

  • Sponsorship forms with fundraising tips.

If you are interested in joining Team OCD-UK with one of our charity places or if you would like to join the team and run for OCD-UK with your own place please register your interested below. We look forward to welcoming you to Team OCD-UK!

To register your place for the event to run for OCD-UK, there are two quick and simple steps.

Step 1: Email us with your full name, postal address, DOB, next of kin name and contact details.
Step 2: Once we confirm we have a place available, pay the event registration fee. Please do not pay it until requested to do so in case we don't have places available Click here to pay the registration fee of £20 online. *
Step 3: Setup your fundraising page via Virgin Money Giving or Just Giving and start your fundraising.
Step 4: Start your training!

* OCD-UK members do not need to pay the registration fee. The registration fee will be fully refunded to you after the event, once the minimum fundraising target is reached. If you would like to run for OCD-UK but are unable to pay the registration fee, please contact us and we will do all we can to help you.
