It Takes Hold

For many people with OCD, being creative is an outlet to express their feeling about OCD and how it impacts on their daily lives. This poem is one such example.

It Takes Hold
By Catriona Cotterill

It takes hold,
Sharp claws digging in,
Embedding into an aching mind.

Its eyes pure black,
As it stares into mine,
Darkness falls as I struggles to run.

It holds ever tighter,
Compulsion and misery,
My thoughts in a strangle hold,
As I fight to get off this sinister merry go round.
