Good Luck team OCD-UK

This weekend Sorcha McCaffrey will be facing the epic and gruelling 10-12 mile Tough Mudder challenge in the North West of England. She is fundraising for our charity and told us exactly why she is putting herself through the challenge.

"To beat OCD I had to face my fears and running Tough Mudder is a similarly terrifying challenge - this 10-12 mile mud run involves jumping into ice water, scaling walls, crawling through mud tunnels and dashing through live electric wires. (Wait, WHAT AM I DOING?)

"My OCD took several forms, like checking and magical thinking, but the worst part of it was the endless intrusive thoughts that harm would come to the people I cared about. I tackled it with CBT therapy, and exposure response prevention, which at the time was terrifying, but now I can say was one of the best things I’ve ever done, because now I’m free to live my life how I choose."

Sorcha's amazingly positive words are inspirational, as is her challenge. To sponsor Sorcha please visit her fundraising page which can be found here - https://www.justgiving.com/Sorcha-ToughMudder. She will be joined in the Tough Mudder challenge this weekend by Coral Sinclair, whose sponsorship page is https://www.justgiving.com/Coral-Sinclair1/.

Across in the North East we have seven more amazing people running for OCD-UK. Carl, Rebecca, Michael, Robbie, Caroline, Simon & Ross will face an equally challenging event through the streets of Newcastle and Gateshead when they run the famous #GreatNorthRun.

We wish all of Team OCD-UK the very best of luck, and send them our gratitude for raising funds and spreading OCD awareness and for being OCD-UK fantastic fundraisers, thank you all.
