OCD-UK Management Committee Trustee
Written: April 2012

"Our family was hit by OCD in January 2009 when our, then 10 year old, son became very unwell. As we watched him get swamped in the OCD nightmare it was like a light had been switched out in our family as he lost his ability to enjoy life, interact with us and even smile.

"OCD-UK was a huge support to us in giving us the strength to pursue the correct treatment, stand firm against OCD’s demands and get through each day. We were supported through messages, family days out and encouragement from many people, and those who run the charity were a huge inspiration to our son.

"After receiving CBT he started to get control back over his thoughts and actions and he is now leading a life that is free from OCD. I feel privileged to be a part of OCD-UK, and desire to see the stigma of mental illness removed with children and adults with OCD receiving the care and support they deserve."
