An introduction to the Scottish NHS specialist OCD clinic, the Dundee Advanced Intervention Service (AIS) and how they have adapted their service for a post-COVID world.

About the speakers

Karen Walker qualified as a mental health nurse in 1986. She trained and qualified as a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist in 2004 and worked in a community setting offering CBT to people with an acute onset of mental health problems. In 2009 Karen began working within the Advanced Interventions Service focusing primarily on psychological therapies for people with chronic and difficult to treat depression and/'or OCD. In 2013 she was involved in the development and implementation of a Specialist OCD treatment service for people living in Scotland. Her research interests are on the long-term outcomes of people who have experienced an OCD illness.

About Rhiannon Buick
I qualified as a mental health nurse from the University of Dundee in 2008. I went onto to work in various general adult psychiatry settings until 2015 when I joined the Advanced Interventions Service (AIS). I have since completed post-graduate training as a Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapist. One of my main clinical roles is the in AIS is to provide specialist psychological assessment and psychological treatment to people in Scotland who have a diagnosis of severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
