Intrusions about relationships and sexuality are very common in OCD. This presentation discusses some of the common intrusions and compulsions people have about sexuality and relationships in OCD, and the similarities between the themes and how they often overlap.
Lauren Callaghan (CPsychol, AFBPsS, PGDipClinPsych, PgCert, MA (hons), LLB (hons), BA is a consultant clinical psychologist who worked at national level treatment centres for anxiety disorders, OCD and BDD in London, United Kingdom (CADAT and ADRU) specialising in the treatment of chronic obsessional problems. Lauren obtained her clinical psychology training in New Zealand, before moving to the United Kingdom where she specialised in CBT for anxiety and obsessional problems. She also trained in systemic family therapy and now she uses her expert skillset to work with individuals and their families to understand and conquer obsessional and anxiety problems. After running a successful practice in London, she has recently moved to Sydney to be closer to her family and where she continues to work as a clinical psychologist, and she also spends her time writing books to help individuals and their families overcome mental health problems.
