OCD-UK welcomes Professor Roz Shafran as a new Patron of our charity.
Professor Roz Shafran is a leading psychologist who has won multiple awards for her contributions to clinical research, which has included research on Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder. Welcoming the news, Chief Executive of OCD-UK, Ashley Fulwood said:
“We could not be more delighted to welcome Professor Shafran as our new Patron. It’s been almost twenty years since I first met Roz at a conference, and I still recall her words that day with an offer to help the charity, which at that time was still in its infancy. Those words have rung true; for 20 years Roz has been an active supporter of OCD-UK, generously sharing her time and commitment to supporting those affected by OCD at our conferences and helping and supporting us with advice and other help behind the scenes too.”
Professor Shafran is currently Professor of Translational Psychology at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. In addition to publishing over 360 academic clinical research papers, she has co-authored and co-edited six books including self-help bestsellers. Her most recent book is the bestseller How to Cope When Your Child Can’t. She also previously co-authored the book, Oxford Guide to the Treatment of Mental Contamination.
Professor Shafran speaking about becoming patron, “I am honoured to be a Patron of OCD-UK. The work of the charity is inspirational and helps people in many important ways. I look forward to continuing to work with Ashley and the rest of the fantastic team.”
OCD-UK look forward to extending this wonderful working relationship for many more years.
