People’s experiences of intrusive thoughts of harming others wanted for short fictional film

OCD-UKOCD in the Media (Cat)

A British film director, Hendrik Ehlers, is making a short fictional film about a character who is troubled by intrusive thoughts of harming others. The aim of the film is to accurately and sympathetically portray the inner life of someone living with this type of OCD, in order to challenge public preconceptions and fight stigma.

OCD-UK are happy to support Hendrik in looking for volunteers who would be willing to speak to him about their experiences, including any difficulties sharing one’s thoughts with others (including professionals) and feelings of loneliness that might arise from this.  Volunteers would remain anonymous and their conversation with Hendrik would not appear in the film. These conversations would help Hendrik make sure the fictional film is as true to life as possible. They could take place via video or audio call, or in person when Hendrik is in the UK.

Hendrik would be grateful to anyone who would like to get in touch at: shortfilmOCD@gmail.com

Hendrik is based at the University of Television and Film in Munich, Germany. His previous work includes documentaries about psychosis and human trafficking as well as a number of autobiographical films.
